I first painted my sister’s dogs and seeing the delight when I gave the portraits to her sparked a love of painting pet portraits. This led to commissions from family and friends and beyond.

My goal with each portrait is to capture the unique character and spirit of someone’s beloved pet. I work from photographs and provide a guide for getting a good reference photo.

If you would like a portrait of your pet as a gift, celebration or memorial please contact me.

The Process

Creating a portrait begins with your favourite photographs. I’ll help you choose the best reference image if you’re unsure.

Before painting, I produce pencil sketches and colour swatches to match your pet’s fur, markings and eye colour as accurately as possible. Once the composition is finalised, I carefully build the painting layer by layer using watercolour to create a portrait full of life and character.
