Hi, I’m Tamara
After years of teaching, I rediscovered my passion for painting and found my home in watercolour.
I made my journey back to art after leaving a career as a teacher. I always loved drawing and painting, and it was my favourite thing to do as a child.
After school I studied illustration, but I found a love for teaching children when I started part time work in a nursery school. I decided to pursue teaching for a stable income and put art to the side – a lovely hobby to go back to in my holidays and spare time.
In 2021, I cut down my teaching hours and picked up watercolours, and it was an instant love! I adore the free-flowing versatility of watercolours and the way colours blend and work together allowing me to work in a calm and meditative way which suits the pieces I create.
Every pet has their own personality, and my aim is to capture that in every portrait I paint. Whether it’s a faithful companion, a thoughtful memorial or a special gift, each commission is created with care to celebrate the unique spirit of the animal. Working from your photographs, I create original hand-painted watercolour portraits that you’ll treasure for years to come.
Painting allows me to slow down, appreciate the beauty around me and share those moments through watercolour.

My watercolour paintings are inspired by the natural world, from wildlife and landscapes to the small details that catch my eye. I love exploring the colours and gentle movement of nature through watercolour.

I love the calm, flowing nature of the medium and creating artwork that captures the beauty of wildlife, landscapes and the unique personality of cherished pets. Every painting is created by hand with care, patience and attention to detail.
