Nature watercolours
There is something so calming about going out into my garden. I love the intricate colours and shapes of the flowers and leaves, the sound of the birds’ calls and the flutter of their wings as they dart in and out of the hedges.
I love the variety of plants that grow there, the magpies that wait patiently at my patio doors for some birdseed and even the occasional fox or squirrel. This is what inspires me to paint nature. I try to capture the small details in the pattern of a leaf or on the petal of a flower that you only see if you look closely. I am fascinated by the daily goings about of the birds. Sometimes you can only glimpse them for a few seconds. Painting them allows me to capture these fleeting moments.
